An erotic, experimental modern revision of Alexandre Dumas work 'The Lady of the Camelias' (also known to video viewers from the classic Garbo version). Here, the affair between the irresistible Camille and the social upstart Armand takes on all its dimensions, but the film isn't an explicit 'adult' work per se.
Camille 2000 is ultra stylish and oozing with sixties decadence, beautiful but ooh-so-bored people, fashion and some of the best lounge music ever committed to film. Set in Rome it centers on a handsome playboy and his pursuit of a beautiful rich young woman, Marguerite. She is trapped in a decadent cycle of drink, drugs and despair and wants out before it destroys her and the man that she loves.
Directed by one of the most important directors of sixties and seventies erotica, Radley Metzger, Camille 2000 is an essential addition to any library of sex cinema.
