The Salvation Group currently consists of four main divisions Redemption Films, Purgatory, Triple Silence, and Salvation TV which cover the following:
REDEMPTION FILMS
This is our longest established company having been formed in 1993 with the launch of our iconic film label Redemption. Redemption was a genuine ground-breaking film label which brought the works of Jess Franco, Jean Rollin, Dario Argento, Mario Bava, Bruno Mattei, Lucio Fulci, as well as numerous other films that had previously been banned as video nasties or that were just not available, to a wide mainstream audience. Redemption’s highly distinctive black, white and red packaging became instantly recognizable on the shelves of retailers and Redemption’s insistence on releasing films in their correct ratios, in their original language and, UK censors permitting, uncut, rapidly established Redemption’s reputation among horror fans. Since its founding the Redemption label has gone through a variety of changes and challenges including having had more films banned by the BBFC than any other distributor (Bare Behind Bars, The Sadist of Notre Dame, Sadomania, Love Camp 7), launched in the United States, and generally striven to maintain its reputation and commitment to cutting edge and transgressive cult cinema. With 2008 seeing Redemption’s fifteenth anniversary there is a lot more to come and more provocative and challenging surprises in store from this truly original label.
Redemption now also embraces the labels:
JEZEBEL This label specialises in erotica from cinemas earliest forays into the commercial exploitation of sex through to the arrival of video and home viewing in the late seventies and early eighties which effectively killed off the cinema ‘X’ film. Covering everything from the early naturist films like Naked as Nature Intended through to classics of British saucy cinema like Au Pair Girls and Can You Keep It Up For A Week? through to I Am Curious, Yellow and Monique the Jezebel label which launched in 1995 is now established in both the UK and US.
SACRAMENT Is a totally unique label specialising in contemporary Japanese erotic film or ‘Pink Cinema’ as this genre is more widely known. Launched in 2004 and releasing titles made within the past few years and very often made within the last twelve months Sacrament has brought films that had never been released outside of Japan to a wide Western audience for the first time with major success both in terms of sales and critical acclaim. Now with a US Sacrament label imminent and many more releases lined up Sacrament is set to establish itself as the market leader in Pink Cinema worldwide.
PUBLICATIONS
Nihilista is a free newspaper. Nihilista is published intermittently and is a visual and literary feast, with each issue rapidly becoming a collectors edition within weeks of publication. Our other main project though is our small army of feisty, high motivated, creative, gorgeous and attitudinal women known collectively as the Satanic Sluts.
The Satanic Sluts are building up to be 666 of the worlds most amazing women who are currently to be found on their own website (www.satanic-sluts.com - itself about to be the subject of a major design overall) and are soon to be the subject of a large format art book, Blood & Dishonour: The dark, bloody and perversely erotic world of the Satanic Sluts – Satan’s true Sirens, which will be published by Fab Press (www.fabpress.com)simultaneously in the UK and US Halloween 2007. Featuring over 50 of our top Satanic Sluts Blood and Dishonour is a true milestone in the history of the SS and Redemption and is sure to bring these amazing women to a much wider audience. To accompany the book we are producing a stand alone special Satanic Sluts DVD featuring especially filmed sequences with a number of girls from the book. This DVD will also go on sale in Halloween to coincide with the books publication.
TRIPLE SILENCE
Triple Silence is the Group’s music company and currently has two active labels;
Triple Silence which when originally founded in 2003 had a very strong gothic and satanic bias but has with its relaunch in 2007 seen its remit widen to encompass Black Metal and all of its numerous sub-genres like Pagan BM, Doom, Battle and so on.
Hydra is our second and newest music label covering Industrial, NeoFolk, Martial and Military Pop, Noise, Ambient and Experimental and as such is a highly cutting edge and challenging label having signed some of the most controversial acts playing in the music scene today. Cross-promoted across all of our DVD releases and with downloads now very much a part of Triple Silence’s ongoing remit it is our hope that the next two years will see both Triple Silence and Hydra establish themselves both in the UK and US as two of the scenes most innovative, creative and provocative labels.
SALVATION TV
Salvation TV is the umbrella company for all of The Groups projects that exploit what can loosely be termed New Technologies such as the Internet, Internet TV, Mobile Phone downloads, wallpapers, and Mobile TV, I-Pods, Music downloads, Video on Demand, My Space and so on. To date the Group has established a genuine internet TV channel, www.salvationtv.com, a subscription based, worldwide channel that plays 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It currently plays a nine hour loop of Redemption horror films and specially filmed material and it is The Groups intention to build on this, updating the content every few weeks and more as the subscription base grows. Working in conjunction and often utilizing and maximizing the same material, in particular, the newly filmed links and programs that make up the exclusive material on the Company’s internet channels will be Mobile Phone content. The Group currently has deals in place with Zone Vision, the company that owns the horror channel and Sharp who deal directly with all the key operators like Vodafone, 3, O2, Orange and in the USA with Cingular and Sprint, two of the biggest operators in the World. Currently Salvation Group supplies a range of images, film clips and specially created video clips ranging in length from 20/30 seconds to 2 minutes for mobile users to download and/or stream.
PURGATORY
Purgatory Films <is our adult division and was formed in 1996 with the release in the UK of the pioneering work of award winning director Michael Ninn including the films Latex and Shock. From here Purgatory immediately established itself as a prestigious adult label and featured in numerous magazines and newspapers including FHM, GQ and The Guardian. Purgatory was also responsible for bringing the initial actions against the BBFC which culminated in 2000 with the UK government finally capitulating to public demands and legalising the sale and distribution of hardcore adult material in the United Kingdom. Now as new technologies and changes in viewing habits have dictated further variations to how adults access pornography so Purgatory is again taking the initiative and leading the way for others to follow. Soon we will be making a major announcement regarding Purgatory’s future and its role in 21st Century erotica – be ready!
